Air Purifier
AirBose is an air purifier for the home, installed with a vented port on an exterior wall. This port acts as a heat exchanger, recovering energy from the conditioned inside air that is typically wasted as part of ventilation.
Industrial Design
Our design team addressed the functionality and visual style of the device, working within the constraints of the system and exploring modern home trends.
Exploring form, interaction, and CMF through early concepts
Analyzing the fabric-wrapped trend
Render of finalized air purifier design
Mechanical Engineering
CAD was developed to refine the form and prepare parts for manufacturing.
Electrical Engineering
We created the design specifications for the device’s block diagram, electronics schematic, and operation parameters.
Prototyping
Using a combination of 3D printing, custom made parts, and off the shelf components, a prototype was created to assess functionality and user interaction.
UI/UX Design
After generating concepts for an icon-based interface for the device, the controls were simplified to a single button and light ring indicator.
