Design Research
Our team researched aesthetic trends in the beauty and tech industries to inspire form and style while simultaneously exploring possible solutions for hinge mechanics.
During the research phase, we also ran tests for lighting options, collecting data for lux at different currents and comparing light guided panels at varying thicknesses and hues.
Industrial Design
Beginning with concepts for style options and points of user interaction, the product was refined to a solution that is both elegant and practical.
Mechanical Engineering & Prototyping
Our team worked on defining materials and dimensions for external components, working with manufacturers to ensure the highest quality and attention to detail for this product.
We developed a custom hinge that could hold its position in infinite settings with a 180° range of motion, inspired by the Nintendo DS.
