We are a product development consultancy that specializes in industrial design, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, software engineering, design research, and prototyping. We design products that look good, work better, address the needs of users, and make a substantial impact on the market, all the while meeting the demands and needs of our clients.  To put it in simpler terms, we make great ideas work!

At Credo, you will find a group of avid problem solvers. Our individual experiences are broad and diverse. Our involvement with a wide variety of product developments allow us to apply what we learned to each new project.  We call this compounding experience.  We all share the hunger to never stop learning, which keeps us on the cutting edge of product development. We are creative and we are innovative. We are equally comfortable creating innovative ideas as we are turning them into something that works. Bottom line, we believe, hence the name.....

Kickoff – Following acceptance of our proposal, we jump-start each project with a kickoff meeting that includes all the key players from the Credo team and provides an opportunity to meet face-to-face with the client team. We use this time to absorb crucial project information, align on the project goals, and establish the preferred communication channels and schedules that best suit our clients.

Deliverables: project planning

Explore – Whether we’re breathing new life into an existing product or crafting an entirely new one, we incorporate a variety of research methodologies to capture user insights, design trends and technology opportunities that help fuel our innovation and problem-solving activities. Our aim is to pinpoint a product experience target that harmoniously blends user delight, marketing objectives, and manufacturability.

Deliverables: documentation and reporting of the following: competitive product analysis, trend research, form/style inspiration, user research, ergonomic requirements, UI/UX wireframing, technology research, and technical feasibility assessment

Create – Armed with the insights gleaned during the exploration phase, we utilize a combination of sketching, rendering and CAD to capture and visualize our ideas. During this phase, our team of Industrial Designers and Engineers collaborate to create several concepts, each with unique approaches and attributes from which our clients can choose for concept refinement. 

Deliverables: concept sketches, ideation prototypes, mechanical concepts, proof of concept (POC) prototypes, preliminary electrical schematic layouts, UI/UX asset collection, and UI/UX mockups

Refine – Concepts that carry the most potential and interest as determined through evaluation, discussion, and feedback from our clients, users, and our own team, are refined. We examine the design minutiae, refining our concepts to include details that were chosen during the initial concept stage. Functionality issues are addressed, and preliminary ideas are transformed into robust solutions that deliver the targeted product experience.

Deliverables: initial CAD, 3D printed parts, renderings, color/material/ finish (CMF) studies, electrical schematics and block diagrams, PCB layouts, and first revs of desktop and mobile apps

Deliver – We bring our concepts to life through detail-design and prototypes using an iterative process of build-evaluate-refine to ensure our designs are primed for manufacturing (DFM). Our team of Engineers will ensure a smooth hand-off of detail design files to our clients’ manufacturing teams and offer continued support throughout the manufacturing process. We also have strong ties with manufacturing partners both domestically and overseas, and we’re always ready to facilitate introductions.

Deliverables: detail design and design for manufacturing (DFM), CAD, BOMs, FEA/CFD simulations, product graphics, alpha/beta prototypes, pre-production prototypes, supplier sourcing and manufacturing support.

While many projects encompass all these phases, we’re flexible and often adapt our process to cater to our clients’ specific needs. We may assist a client with concept creation, knowing they will utilize their own internal resources to complete the development, or a client may bring us concepts and ask that we assist through the refinement and detail design phases of the project. Whatever the need, our clients can leverage our expertise to fill in the gaps or have us carry the development through the entire process.
